Skunk2 '06+ Civic Rear Camber Kit

We can't wait to run this new kit on the Project SI

Skunk2 '06+ Civic Rear Camber Kit

Today Skunk2 announced the launch of their newly designed Rear Camber kit for the '06 Honda Civic.    With new advancments in the design you no longer will you have to disconnect the arm from the chassis of the car.   Now you can adjust the rear camber by simply loosening the jam nuts and adjust to your fitting.

Skunk2 was kind enough to send us this kit so that we can fine tune the suspension for our upcoming season, starting March 14th.   Be sure to stay with Speedmotiv for updates this year on the progress of the project Si.

For the full press release be sure to head to Skunk2 and read up.

New Skunk K-Series Intake Manifold

Wait till we get our hands on this part!

New Skunk K-Series Intake Manifold

Skunk2’s Pro Series Intake Manifold for Honda’s K-series has arrived. Skunk2 engineers looked to the popular ’06+ Civic Si’s RBC intake manifold for inspiration and went back to the drawing board. Skunk2’s Pro Series Intake Manifold for Honda’s K-series features a larger plenum and shorter, oversized runners when compared to the RBC, and is cast with thicker wall material, leaving room for further porting for high-horsepower applications. Instead of producing a manifold with a significantly oversized plenum and excessively short runners that would sacrifice mid-range power, the Pro Series manifold was designed for the “street enthusiast” who wants more power but doesn’t want to sacrifice mid-range performance to get it. The results are improved airflow, an enhanced venturi effect, and both mid-range and top-end power gains.

Skunk2’s all-new, cast-aluminum Pro Series Intake Manifold for Honda’s K-series is a direct-fit replacement for all K20/K24 engines thanks to its unique, patent-pending water neck design and throttle body flange, which is compatible with OEM throttle bodies as well as those as large as 76mm (’06+ Civic Si requires adapter, sold separately). The special water neck—which can be positioned in two locations based on engine type—eliminates the cutting that’s involved with some RBC installations, and the supplied thermal-insulated intake manifold gasket makes for a truly bolt-on installation (no drilling or modifying required). Pro Series manifolds also incorporate an angled-runner design, which allows for ample hood clearance on ’88-’00 Civics and ’90-’01 Integras with K-series engine swaps.

Project SI - Eibach Meet Road Trip Update

Coke and a Pancake!

Project SI - Eibach Meet Road Trip Update

15 hours and 1000 miles later, we finally made it to our first stop in Southern California.  After a few detours and being stuck in typical California traffic, we rolled up to Skunk2 to meet the staff.  During the Skunk2 visit we got to take a quick shop tour and see the all the magic happens at the shop.  Tony from Skunk2 was kind enough to show us around and some of the new parts they are building for the Mitsubishi Evolutions.   After meeting with Skunk2 we also stopped over and said hello Oscar Jackson Jr. at Kraftwerks and discussed with them about their upcoming line up of Superchargers.   After Skunk2, we had to get our In and Out fix out of the system. Our last stop of the night was a restaurant in Santa Anna called Chaya for some nice Boba Tea drinks.

Today we will start our trek with Sean Bradford (from Maryland) over to the Hellaflush meet going on at Venice Beach.  So look for some sick updates/event coverage to come.

Project SI - Eibach Road Trip Update

Cali or Bust!

Project SI - Eibach Road Trip Update

We finally made it into California this morning after leaving Idaho bright and early at 1am.  The long night was filled with plenty of movies to keep us going.   On the trip we learned how long we could keep the gas light on without running out of gas.  At the point we were about to pull straws to see who was walking to the gas station, we turned the corner and there was a gas station.   Tonight we will be heading over to Skunk2 to check out their shop and chat with them.  Look for another update tonight.

TunerZine Project Si - Base Line 1/4 Mile Run

Last weekend was the opening Sport Compact event in Boise, so we took the SI out for its 2009 season opener

TunerZine Project Si - Base Line 1/4 Mile Run

This last weekend marked the start of the 2009 Sport Compact Bracket series at Firebird Raceway in Boise, ID.  We took the project SI out there to see how well it would run with no performance modifications on it yet.  With a steady head wind all day our best time was a 15.10 at 92mph.  With Firebird Raceway being at 3500ft, we will have some work ahead of us with the elevation, but with our partners jumping on board we should start to see some awesome gains and improvements with the SI.  Sadly for us, we took a red light in the opening round of eliminations, but there are more events on the horizon for the SI to climb to the top.  Video available after the jump.
