Porsche 918 Spyder Concept

Porsche surprised us all with their unveiling of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept.   The hybrid is like no other in the market with the ability to run up to 78mpg, and still accelerate 0-60 in less than 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 198mph.   Watch the video put out by Porsche after the break.

Once again, MINI achieves all this by consistently expanding the model range and through the unconventional creativity of MINI design. Just a few months prior to the launch of the brand's fourth model announced for autumn 2010, MINI is now demonstrating its potential for further enhancement of driving pleasure and diversity through another spectacular concept car: the concept of a brand-new type of vehicle proudly presented by MINI at the North American International Auto Show (16-24 January 2010) in Detroit.

Modular Concept Corvette

Modular Concept has been putting out some really nice wheels lately.  This tuned Corvette caught my eye, rolling on some sweet Modular Concept wheels finished in a matte black face and carbon lips.  More pics of the sweet setup after the break.

2009 Honda Skydeck Concept 2009

The CR-Z Concept 2009 is the most recent prototype of a compact, agile coupe using Honda’s IMA technology. When the production version goes on sale in the UK next summer 2010, it will be the world’s first sports hybrid car, and the first ever petrol-electric vehicle to employ a 6-speed manual transmission.

Honda’s stand – the largest of the show – will also feature two more new concept cars that aim to broaden the appeal of cleaner vehicle technology.

The EV-N is a small, 4-seater battery electric vehicle, inspired by the N360, Honda's 360cc micro car launched in the 1960s. It features solar panels in the roof, which could be used to charge the on-board battery. The EV-N is purely a design study and there are no plans for production.

Lexus will unveil the LF-Ch full hybrid premium compact concept at the forthcoming 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is joined on the Lexus stand by the world debut of the updated LS model range and revised versions of GS, IS and IS F.

BMW M Concept by Idries Noah

Idries Noah grew impatient waiting for BMW to bring out an R8 rival, so he has decided to design his own version of it.  The recipe was simple.  It needed to look Aggressive, Sleek, Agile and totally different from anything on the road today.

Dimension wise the car is roughly the same as the R8 and would be powered by a tweaked version of the 5L V10 found in the M6. It should be good for 400kw plus. If this car had to go into production in today’s day and age it would probably lose most of its aggressiveness and bold design features.
