Project SI Wrap Design

Help us pick which wrap we apply to the SI

Project SI Wrap Design

With the help of NWMotiv I am looking to transform this 2007 Honda Civic SI into a street legal track car.   Working with various sponsors to help make this project a reality is a great way for me to help show you what simple modifications can help you and your car compete on a high level.  Currently we have three great sponsors with the project:  Cricket Communications, Go-Power Motorsports, and Skunk2 Racing.  Each one of our current sponsors and on coming sponsors are devoted to showing you the best results we can with the products on the car.

First Race of the Seaon for the Project SI

Great first event!!!

First Race of the Seaon for the Project SI

This weekend marked the first race of the season for the Project SI with the Snake River Autocross club.   Over the winter the car saw a few minor changes to it, with the addition of a rear camber kit from our boys at Skunk2 and a new set of Dunlop Star Specs (235/40/17).   If you remember from last year the Project SI runs in a class unique to this SCCA club.  The class is called Idaho Motor Sports (or IMS for short), this class is for the local forum that brings out pretty much any street car to compete.  For this class the rules are pretty simple, because there are only 2 of them:  1. Street Legal and 2. Street Tires (140 Tread wear and up).   The IMS class is filled with almost everything you can think of, high horse power Evolutions to 1980s Honda’s and big mix in-between.

Project SI - Skunk2 Rear Camber Kit Install

Once more goodie from Skunk2 for this upcoming racing season!

Project SI - Skunk2 Rear Camber Kit Install

With the racing season for our Project SI just under 2 weeks away its time we start getting the car ready.  This last week Skunk2 announced the release of the new Rear Camber Kit for the 2006+ Honda Civic SI, lucky for us we managed to get our hands on one.   Let me just start by saying this part is amazing, the quality is off the charts and gold color never hurts.  Now like we mentioned in the last update on the Skunk2 Rear Camber Kit, this new kit will allow you to adjust the camber on the rear without have to remove the part.

More details on the Install after the jump.

Skunk2 '06+ Civic Rear Camber Kit

We can't wait to run this new kit on the Project SI

Skunk2 '06+ Civic Rear Camber Kit

Today Skunk2 announced the launch of their newly designed Rear Camber kit for the '06 Honda Civic.    With new advancments in the design you no longer will you have to disconnect the arm from the chassis of the car.   Now you can adjust the rear camber by simply loosening the jam nuts and adjust to your fitting.

Skunk2 was kind enough to send us this kit so that we can fine tune the suspension for our upcoming season, starting March 14th.   Be sure to stay with Speedmotiv for updates this year on the progress of the project Si.

For the full press release be sure to head to Skunk2 and read up.

What were they thinking... Civic

Speechless..

What were they thinking... Civic

Ok not sure what to think of this but atleast the photography is nice...  This car, used to be a 2008 Honda Civic Sedan and has been converted into this not so nice car.  It features headlights from a Maserati and tailights and side mirrors from a Ferrari.  A lot of money has been poured into this car, but atleast they could have made it nice...  what do you guys think.

Titan Motorsport has just announced that they will be attending the Sport Compact Fall Nationals this weekend at Englishtown Raceway Park.  John Ferguson will be piloting the IPG Civic ov James Innes.  The car has recently been rebuilt after some testing at the Orlando Speedway showed some unexpected engine wear.  The Engine was fully rebuilt by Titan and will be sporting new super secret engine and turbo modifications.  Should really give the guys in the Outlaw FWD class a good run.

Civic on Flush BBS RS Wheels

nice fitment

Civic on Flush BBS RS Wheels

More and more these days, im seeing Honda rolling on perfect offsets.  This Civic caught my attention with a sweet set of deep dish BBS RS finished with black centers and gold bolts.  The ride height is just perfect, making for a sweet ride to roll around town in.  More pics after the break.

Offset Crazy Civic

What is going on here?

Offset Crazy Civic

Ok, I love the flush and cambered look but there is a point when you have to say that is enough..  Found this Civic testing out their camber fitment, and this is a perfect example of taking it over the extreme.  I dunno but it looks like something broke in the suspension.

What Was He Thinking

Poor Civic

What Was He Thinking

Ok, really what was he thinking when he did this to the wheels?  The car could have been cool if the wheels were done all in one lip color and minus all those horrible decals.  I guess everyone is trying to out do one another, but this one definitely takes the trophy - for being really ugly...  and how safe is it riding around without a hood?  More pics after the break if your stomach can handle it.
